Mexican Wills Modified

Appears as though your will must be rewritten and filed. Thanks to Spencer, we contacted, made appointment and had our will rewritten with all changes in Nogales. We were required to write our will in English and he translated to Spanish, and filed in Chapala. Total cost was 2000 pesos and it took approximately 2 hours. He is bilingual.....speaks English better than Spencer, LMAO.(just kidding). It was a 2 hour drive, a short walk into Mexico. Saved us flying into GDL. Just an FYI for All.

It is my understanding that a Mexican will can only be prepared by a Notario. But I have people telling me that any lawyer can do it, or one can do it at home without a lawyer.

Am I correct? Only a Notario?

Only a notario although many use coyote notarios who put their seal and charge extra for being involved, best to go to the notario directly. One can do it at home but there are very strict requirements such as all handwritten and fingerprints on every page and a registry of an exact original duplicate at the property registry.
