Blackberry BBM

I have a Blackberry Curve here that was formerly registered on the Rogers network in Canada. I unlocked it and have a Telcel SIM card which allows mwe to use it for voice & text on the Amigo plan. I can't seem to get BBM to work though for Blackberry to Blackberry messaging. Does anyone on here use this feature and if so, did you have to have a Telcel data plan to get it to work?

Telcel allows BBM only in a Blackberry data plan , most Internet features for BB are blocked like browsing, bbm, facebook and twitter.
I own a BB and know it , only thing that works as a messenger on amigo kit for me is LINE and Whatsapp.

I'm no techie, but when they asked me if I wanted Google Plus, I rejected it. It's not on my otherwise fine working PC, so nobody is "forcing" you to have it.

I have a BB with an Amigo talk plan plus internet access. My BBM works fine.

Fernanda at the TelCel store near the old casino is not that familiar with Blackberrys but a male who is there regularly made some changes to the settings to make BBM work.

I'd also try the TelCel store at Centro Laguna Mall to see if they can help.
