Cordless Phone Problem

Post by Lady Otter Latté on Tue Oct 21, 2014 11:42 am

Here is a new one on me.
My phone rang this morning. I answered. Dead silence. I hung up. Phone rang again. Same thing.
All systems on the phone are go. The phone even showed me the number calling. I tried calling back. When I pushed send for the number, just silence. I tried another friend´s number. Same silence. It appears that everything else on my phone is functioning. I just can not hear anything. I am at a loss as to even troubleshoot. The phone is a Gigaset and about four years old.

This might help. Try unplugging everything on it waiting perhaps a minute and then reconnecting. I hope, it will be that simple, but probably not.

Pete just tried that. No luck. Thumbs down

Sunshiney, even though it is showing a full charge could that still be the problem?

Since I am willing to try new batteries anyway (because, why not) best place to get AAA rechargeable batteries?

Yep I just had it happen to me. Several said they had tried to call us and it would not go thru. Went to Sterens and got new batteries and all is fine.

Okay. It took another day to get the batteries and let them charge overnight.
This morning had my friend call me. She can hear me fine while I still hear nothing. Everything on this phone works except I can not hear anything--not even the phone number going through and ringing.
I am back to WTF? Guess a new phone is in my (very near) future.

The problem may not be with the phone. Rolling Eyes

One of my phones is not charging. Where is Sterens? Mine take a little battery pack. Would this store have them?

Far east end of Laguna Centro mall that faces  the Carretera  across from Walmart and just east of IShop mail store.

Sterens is in the Lago plaza across from Walmart. It is in the front row next to the mail store. They have a full line of batteries for electronics so it is your best bet.

I'm sure you have checked, but once I accidentally pressed the mute button on mine. Didn't even know that it had one.

Yes, I did check that and it changed nothing. Thank you for the idea.
A friend has lent me an extra phone she was not using so I am back in communication.

i'm giving them to adrian to take to guadalajara and see if he can find them. the farmacias don't even have as big a stock as telmex type stores or sterens. phones don't take ordinary batteries. in any event.
