I don't imagine the investors behind this endeavor have a single concern about the "high season", whatever that supposedly amounts to these days. Sure, they'll no doubt be happy to get any supplemental business from whatever foreigners "season" in the Lake Chapala area, but if they're counting on that crowd to make money, they'll be out of business before their new sheet rock facade is blown into the lake.

The "high season" for a lot of businesses, like the Balneario in SJC, is right now over school vacation.

Well, sure, of course. But the remodel just started last week!

The local rags say the owners suggest they are aiming at a September launch. Just in time for Fiestas Patrias! We'll see what it is when it gets off the ground - or off the pylons - or whatever is holding it up.

September is only 3 weeks away. Not a hope in hell. If they truly want an "upscale" look, they'll have to redo all the flooring and probably most of the roof. I imagine the kitchen and bathrooms need a little more than a good cleaning. I'm thinking November and even that is a stretch.

Yes, it would appear that the workman are sitting around and there is yellow tape draped across the place. Probably a pissing match with the municipality.

That location has been a pissing match between numerous municipal governments and the leaseholders over many years. It is eventually resolved. As I, recall, it is a lease agreement through federal authorities.

Hopefully this project will not be delayed, The restaurant will be great for the waterfront and the town.

Another cultural antiquity being destroyed.  They are worse than ISIS.

I walked down to the pier this afternoon (Sunday). Of course, nothing was happening because it was Sunday. Looked about like it has for a few days, yellow tape gone.

But I'm certain that SOMETHING will happen there. At least I hope so, for better or for worse, hopefully better.

Because if NOTHING happens there other than what they've already done, and it's left in its current state, can you imagine the ranty hellfire noise we'll hear from MC/M2?

It looks like work has continued. There is twice as much cement board on that framework than there was yesterday morning.
