Amazon Mexico is now open for business

Great news. I just took a peek at their offering and it looks like they are going to be stocking a whole lot of NOB products. When they are not available (yet) they say buy now and they will ship as soon as available. This is indeed good news.

Well click on the link I posted above. It clearly says Free Shipping on orders over $599 pesos.

Read the second and fifth bullet points. The towels mentioned above are not sold and shipped by Amazon.

Three days ago I bought a brand new 2013 tablet for $150 on the regular Amazon Prime (not the Mex Amazon). It was delivered this morning and cost $2.99 for shipping. Be sure and click the box on the left side (you have to scroll down) that says something like "show only items eligible for global shipping". Make sure your address is a Mexican address, and when viewing the item it will say "This item ships to Mexico" or "This item does not ship to Mexico". I only searched for electronics and not all were eligible, but most of the 2013 and older stuff qualified.

Another quirk, i just did a dummy search for a smallish area using .mex, with very little choices available. The same search on .com came up with very few choices that would ship to mexico. I did the same at .ca and they will ship but international orders pay shipping and are not eigible for the benefits being discussed here.
I guess there are still some issues and international treaties to work through.

So they are working out the kinks. If anyone can do it Amazon can. Look at Costco. Give them some time, I'm thinking. I'm not in a huge hurry to buy more than I need, and if I get a hair, Amazon US ships here, most things.

I have greater faith that Amazon.com.mx will get things right than I do that Windows 10 will get things right.

Before I would buy anything from Amazon (Mx or com) I would check eBay.com and MercadoLibre. In my limited experience with MercadoLibre, I have found better prices for the same item and quick delivery.

I have never known Amazon to be really price competitive against eBay.
