Never had any problems with pit bulls, and I have been around more than a few.
There have been more than a few dog owners who deserved to be tasered.

Really??? I have a pit bull and find that to be totally misinformed BS. I have seen bad dogs in just about every breed. I know a few I would like to use a taser on ........and I'm not talking dogs.

CBob is correct. The OP is either almost unbelievably ignorant, he is trolling and/or he has some tasers he wants to sell.

IMHO the problem with Pit Bulls is with the irresponsible breeders and the resulting dogs. Pitties were bred for generations to be dog aggressive. When dog fighting went out of fashion, some fighting breeds - such as Boston Bull Terriers - had breeders who cared enough to carefully breed out the dog aggression.
Traits like this must be carefully bred out of a line. Being nice to the dog doesn't do it. Depending on which expert you believe, it takes 7 - 10 generations of careful culling to remove an undesirable characteristic or trait. Most UKC Pit Bull breeders have bred out animal aggression, but they are in the minority. Too many breeders are so busy breeding big ugly heads, and making excuses that temperament is ignored.
And I have had too many friends, including my husband, who have been attacked by pit bulls. I have also had friends whose dogs were mauled or killed by pit bulls.

Here is something interesting.

I think it is wiser to post information about recognizing aggression in dogs and how to protect yourself, children and other pets against aggressive dogs instead of focusing on a particular breed.

Re: An interesting FAQ since I see a lot of what look like Pit bull mixes Lakeside.
I have owned 3 Pit Bulls, 1 Doberman, 1 Rottweiler, 1 Rott/Shepard mix and 1 Malamute along with several smaller dogs. Not once ever has any of our dogs displayed any aggression towards a human or another dog. I had most of these dogs on my farm with my two small kids and a wide variety of farm animals. It is 100% about the raising and socializing when they are puppies. Unless the dog has a mental disorder there is no bad dog, just bad or ignorant owners. Period.
As a side note, I do have a 6 lb. Chihuahua who acts pretty tough.
