Ubiquiti Products (WiFi) Empty Ubiquiti Products (WiFi)

Wondering if anyone Lakeside sells Ubiquiti brand products? www.ubnt.com

I see a couple dealers in Guadalajara, Morph WiFi for one. Looking for an AirRouter HP for starters and maybe a UniFi UAP-LR access point as well.

Thanks !

I retired ten years ago from being a computer engineer and now most of it sounds like gibberish laugh out loud.
It will happen to you too probably!

Ha Z, That's true ! I'm a retired radio/tv station engineer and much of this IT stuff hurts my brain.. I've used this Ubiquiti gear before NOB. It's enterprise class but only slightly above consumer hardware cost. Here we need much more Wifi power to punch through these walls and deal with the faraday cage construction. Much of the typical wifi gear sold to consumers is just cheap junk.

I have some very fancy WIFI Antenna bought at "Frys including a corner one that works like a Klipshorn speaker and concentrates the 360 degree signal in the 90 degree corner.  Boy does it deal with thick walls well. Found I didn't need more power just better antenna.  Asus makes a 12 inch or so antenna that substitutes for the little five inch ones that unscrew.  If you want to borrow one give me a PM as right now I have an extra to loan if you want to experiment.  After finding these better antenna solutions I got rid of my repeater as I didn't need it anymore and enjoy the additional bandwidth that you lose with a repeater.

In one of my lives I learned how to step down a big RCA tube commercial transmitter and I held a class something license.  I also climbed the tower and replaced the bulb once which I will never do again laugh out loud.  Did my time as an on air talent and I use the word talent loosely.  Fun job for a young man but never paid enough moolah.

Maybe that's what I need. WiFi upstairs (where the modem is located) is fine but I can't get sufficient signal down stairs.

Agreed Z !  We have some common broadcast experience. More antenna gain is good approach. David, you should try that.

I'm about to put in my first TelMex order for rental house we found. Can I turn off the wifi in the Infinitum box and plug in my own wifi router.. yes ?  Also, trying to figure out what plans are available on TelMex website.

Cheers !

Absolutely yes. On my telmex modem it has a switch and I just plug in my better router with external antenna into Telmex router. Note Telmex routers/modem have wifi built in. Telecable does not. WIFI is optional.

David come visit me and I can show you how I got the signal to go thru these walls. Everything is WIFI in the house so I have no wires. Standard internal antenna are oriented to work Parallel to earth try putting telmex modem on its side (try all orientations) and signal may go up and down with more signal. I can go up with my setup by laying the Asus antenna down parallel to earth. You also could try a repeater to boost the signal to lower level but it does take a little of the bandwidth away for overhead. Yes we can fix your house for sure for better WIFI.

Please understand as Woody will verify antenna science is a little bit of Voodoo due to all the conditions involved
but I just don't have any WIFI problems anymore with the proper Antenna solutions and I don't have to use repeaters anymore.

You do not need one access point with more power. You need more access points
