Video Drivers

My laptop screen is blank, I can here it go thru its normal routine when starting up but never a flicker on the display..Recommendation on where to take it for diagnosis and repair locally??? TIA...prefer Chapala or Ajijic but don't want to take it to GDL.

Sounds like the video card may be shot. I have used ComputerLand in Ribera's with good results.

General directions for Computerland in Riberas..

Holdrja recommended a place in Chapala that I will go to when I finally cave and have a new computer built. I don't remember the name but it is across the street from the Santandar bank and west a few doors. I easily located the shop visually after reading her recommendation.

Ruben at Computerland is good too but the cigarette smoke and stench in there makes me gag.

ComputerLand is just east of the old Maganas and the Tepahua thrift store.

Don't know the street number, it's Hidalgo or the Carretera (southside), a few doors from the old Magan~a restaurant, if that helps.

The guys in Chapala are on an extended vacation..I went by today and the place looked deserted..I will give computerland a look/see tomorrow. Thanks All.Will also post the outcome.

You might also try Benno Computers behind the Pemex station in Plaza Interlago on the Libramiento . They are between the car wash and Tio Sam. Hours 10:30 to 5:30. 766-5933

Took it to computer land Tuesday I just received a call that they repaired the video card and removed some spy ware and it is ready for pick-up..I don't know the price but his estimate was 5-600 peso's. Thanks for the referral..
