Question on Bulk E-mailing Empty Question on Bulk E-mailing

Post by Hensley Thu Apr 28, 2016 8:00 pm

Hello all you smart people out there, I have to send out over 600 e-mails at a time and you know I am having trouble with certain accounts because I am over their limit, so any suggestions on how I get around this?

Thanks for your help.

There are online services that offer bulk mailing. You have to pay but it is quite reasonable. I used one when I was webmaster for the Canadian Club but I can't recall the name. Google it.

They provide some very good tips about how to do this. They also provide statistics re open percentages etc., bad emails, non accepted emails etc etc

Question on Bulk E-mailing Empty Re: Question on Bulk E-mailing

Post by MexicoPete Sat Apr 30, 2016 7:02 pm

When I worked at Lagunanet, some five years ago, lakesides first internet service provider, Rod Collins's mail server was set to limit the number of emails one could send out to less than 20 per emai. Rod did this to help ensure that his site wasn't considered a source of Spam.
Gosh, 600 addresses per email sure sounds like a lot.  I hope it's not spam Beer

Most ISP's and email providers such as hotmail or gmail have limits.

The large mailing list for Operation Amor uses MailChimp. Free for up to 12,000 emails a month. Problem is that it gets caught by SPAM filters because the company is basically set up to send out "internet marketing" better known as SPAM.

Question on Bulk E-mailing Empty Re: Question on Bulk E-mailing

Post by Hensley Sat May 14, 2016 9:28 am

Well Dave and I got the Vertical Response set up and I sent out my first e-mail and 3/4 of the mailing list did not receive it at all or the other 1/2 went to their spam, many people on Ipads and such can't open it at all, so I gotta figure out how to get around this. Got a lot of feedback from my mailers when I sent out another e-mail from Yahoo saying that they might want to check their spam and got a lot of upset people that did not receive my notice. So now what?

Well you can check with your ISP (Telmex?) to see if they have a corporate level that offers bulk emailing. It will cost more than vertical reponse.

As someone mentioned, Mailchimp has a free plan and it should be more than adequate for your needs. I've used it extensively for a number of different mailing lists and never had delivery problems and it is easy to use.

Well set up Mailchimp and sent out the email and it was denied. Not one went out. I followed all their rules and everything.
