Puerto Vallarta kidnapping: Gunmen abduct multiple people from upscale restaurant

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – Gunmen rushed into a trendy Puerto Vallarta restaurant and kidnapped multiple people around 1 a.m. Monday, according to Mexican officials.

The kidnapping happened at an upscale restaurant called “La Leche” in an area of the coastal city frequented regularly by tourists.

I believe the UK has taken more of an interest in Mexico for vacation/retirement as per that thread about "the British invasion" a few weeks ago.

Latest story out of the U.K. is that it has not been confirmed that the elder son was not one of those taken. According to the video one of the attendees left the party shortly before the kidnapper's arrived. Unclear who it was. I found this interesting.

Cancun is the most favored tourist destination amongst Europeans.  Being that you can easily drive through 6 countries in Europe in one day, they can't imagine the distance between Cancun and PV.
 Mexico is Mexico, all located on the same postage stamp.

You can drive from Canada through 1 province, 3 American states and 2 Mexican states in one day also.

B.C., Wash, Ore, Cal, Baja North, and Sonora.

Impressive. It took me nearly 20 hours to drive from Vancouver to LA (1275 miles). You must have a rocket car......

Not all in the same day.

But we did meet people in Baja, that with 2 drivers drive non stop (except for pit stops) from Port Hardy down to near Cabo (have 8 days in Baja) and then drive back to work all in 14 days.

My Mexican friend from Guad was here today and he said after seeing the videos on Mexican TV that he believes this was a staged kidnapping. If it was one of Chapo's sons there would have been at least 20 bodyguards in the restaurant. Not even one bodyguard was there? He thinks that these people needed to (disappear) and this was a front for this to happen. I have to believe that if this was Chapo's son, he would have had proper security. These guys do not go anywhere without bodyguards and lots of them.
