Old batteries Empty Old batteries

Post by Canada_Mike Fri Feb 03, 2017 9:33 am

Is there, by any chance, someplace I can dump old batteries where they will be properly disposed of?

Cheers,

Michael

I think there is a place in Chapala. It is on the left going into Chapala right beside a two story (or maybe 3 story) white medical building. Maybe 2-3 blocks before the traffic light.

I think the number on the medical building is either 233 or 223 and the number is up high on the building.

The only reason that I know that is that I went to the medical building and there was a sign on the wall about what they would pay for used batteries.

I've never dropped any batteries off there, just saw the sign on the wall

I think that is for old car batteries (for the lead). I have never heard of anyone buying depleted dry cell batteries.

I think the fire department will take them.

If you are talking about household batteries, aa, aaa, etc, several places have containers for collection. We often leave ours at the ferreteria next to HandyMail. There is a container at the front left side as you enter.

Hi - I noticed a little white plastic tub for used batteries, on the counter at the Soriana customer service desk. That´s the place where you leave packages, get refunds, get your receipt stamped as a guarantee when you buy electronics etc
