Commercial advertising removal in Ajijic

Post by CanuckBob on Fri Jun 23, 2017 1:07 pm

I saw a post on the Ajijic Facebook page that they are removing all advertising and notices from utility poles and walls. Going forward they will be fining businesses that litter with their advertising. That will include all those flyers that get put on cars, etc. Good for them if they actually carry through on it.

Hope they nail Viajes Ajijic with those flyers that are constantly stuck on my windshield. I would never use that company after a really bad Mexico City trip I took with them 4-5 years ago anyway.

What's next? Banning the vehicles with loud-speakers?

Don't hold your breath.

I was on that same trip but it was to Oaxaca. At least they're consistent.

Yes, the poobahs in Chapala are trying to remove some of the visual blight locally. They've even taken to confiscating temporarily placed real estate "Open House" signs. The signs might be retrievable..... if you're game. (No worries, Zeta Gas audio is sacred and safe.)
