Like/Dislike buttons

gringal I pushed a thumb down on yours and it worked but did not work on trairunner, the green one did not work on yours.. so there is something off ...

Are you talking about the same thumbs you clicked last night or ones on different posts? You can click only once per thumb per post.

They work fine for me both on my laptop using Edge browser and on my Kindle using whatever browser this thing has.

I have the option to vote on most posts. But not on yours CanuckBob, nor on trailrunner or lady otter. And I do not see what the vote is on mine

I just looked again, and now I can vote on all of the posts that I couldn't the last time I posted, 5 minutes ago

Unfortunately it is difficult for me to fix any problems that I can't experience myself. I just tried my wife's Samsung tablet that uses Android and no problems there either.

BTW....for those using mobile devices (tablets, phones, etc.) you need to ensure you choose to view this forum in "classic version" not "mobile version".

Thanks for the info on Safari. On my desktop I can see both thumbs just fine.

Yes, Safari and a few other browsers sometimes have problems on websites. This website was built around Internet Explorer so that works best. I use Edge which gives me problems with some of the admin stuff that uses JavaScript. Edge does not support Java. I have use internet explorer or chrome to perform some tasks.

Also you won't see any thumbs on your own posts unless someone likes or dislikes it.

As board owner, can you see who likes or dislikes a post? I know I can't when I hover over the thumbs up or down.

No I can't even see who specifically has liked or disliked a post. It is completely anonymous.

Another Android tablet here, CB, same as my PC some posts have thumbs and some don't.

It must be something in SAT then..........

I have now tested it on 4 different devices (PC laptop, Samsung tablet, Kindle Fire, LG phone) and 5 different browsers (Andorid, Chrome, IE, Edge & FireFox). It works fine on all of them so all I can suggest is there is something in the settings on your devices that are preventing it from working properly for you.

I even created another user ID so I could log in with the same permissions as the regular members. No problems.

The last thing I could recommend is to clear your cache and cookies however clearing your cookies will delete any auto-fill passwords that you use.

I see what could be a pattern on this thread. . .all the thumbs on these 2 pages that I can see have responses. Perhaps the ones where there are no thumbs at all, about 40/50%, don't have responses and I can only see the thumbs if they've been responded to? I dunno. Not that big of a deal. Interesting though.

The only time you shouldn't see thumbs is on your own posts. The thumbs on your own posts only appear when someone likes or dislikes it.

I got no thumbs, you got no thumbs, SunshineyDay got no thumbs and Carry Bean got thumbs sometimes - sometimes not.

I can see all the thumbs and hovering tells me what's up but clicking on any and all does not register. Chrome, laptop.

So you can see the counts too? If so, click on one and then refresh the page to see if it shows up.

It works fine with Chrome on my laptop.

And for those that do continue to have problems do a Google search stating your device and browser.

IE..........why can't I see some icons on a website on my laptop using Chrome. There will be solutions.......

Thumbs work just fine with Firefox on my iMac.
