Costco eye examination Empty Costco eye examination

Some people have said Costco is a good place to get an eye exam. Is the examiner an optician, optometrist or ophthalmologist? Can they do anything more than prescribe glasses? Can they check for other things like glaucoma, macular degeneration, etc?

You should probably see an ophthalmologist (oftalmologo) for a complete eye examination. They will give you a prescription, if you need glasses, and you may have it filled at any optical shop (Optico) or at Costco, any of which will sell you frames, and send them to the lab to have the lenses fitted.

As you were told on TOB, Costco can prescribe and fit glasses but if you want to have a medical exam - check for glaucoma, macular degeneration... - you need to go to an ophthalmologist and that's not what they have at Costco.
