Re: Thanksgiving Dinner
Other Thanksgiving dinner option:
Gosha's on the Carreterra; same block as Bruno's in Ajijic. Last year, it was a true Feast, which they are promising to equal or exceed again this year.
Reservations needed: 766-2121
The construction on the road in front has been bad for business, but the entrance is now easily accessible. The food is always freshly prepared and of the best quality.

Do you know what the cost will be?

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner
Nope, but last year it was much less than the other heavily advertised ones. I just tried the phone number but no answer since they are closed on Tuesdays.

Had lunch there and asked the question: Cost is $250 pesos. One seating at 5 pm. A few spots left. Reservations needed: 766-2121

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner
Yesterdays' Thanksgiving feast was a winner. I didn't count heads, but the patio was full. I'm guessing around 50-60 people. Somehow, the staff and the owners managed to keep the food coming promptly. The turkey was tender and moist. All the sides were well prepared. Our group of six cleaned their plates, with only one chickening (turkeying?) out and taking the dessert home. All in all, it was "home cooking" at its best.
I'm looking forward to next years' holiday feast there.

Same experience at Marco’s El Rey Taco. Waldorf salad, turkey, stuffing, mashed and sweet potatoes, and cranberries. They served buffet style and everything was so delicious I made the mistake of going back for seconds. Oh and a small slice of their apple empanada was the perfect dessert. How lucky we are to have these places to indulge ourselves and with no cleanup afterward.

Where is El Rey Taco? It's not pinging a memory cell.

Re: Thanksgiving Dinner
We decided to go super budget this year. We went to (I think the name is) Alfredo's California Kitchen (American food at Mexican prices) in Riberas. We did take out. We got a sizable serving of tender turkey, real mashed potatoes, yummy dressing, steamed veggies, and tasty vegetable soup - all for 80 pesos. I had made a tossed salad but we were both too full to eat it. Nothing gourmet - just really good food.

Thanks, Flamingo! Smoking deal. I have always enjoyed his food and prices and tend to forget he is there. Is he still in Riberas?
