weather forecasts

Post by chuckp on Sat Nov 11, 2017 7:05 pm

Does anyone know of an accurate online weather report for this area? I've tried all the usual - weatherunderground, Accuweather, Weather Channel, even gob.mx. They are all inaccurate on temperature. Some are 8-9 degrees c. out of whack! (I have a good quality thermometer to check; mostly looking for forecasts that are better than what I can see out the window). Thanks you

Try for local weather in Riberas: http://chapalaweather.net/
There is also a place to click for area forecast

As Gamina says go to http://chapalaweather.net/ , scroll down a little and click on "10 day LAKE SPECIFIC Forecast".

Weatherunderground uses data collected from the Riberas weather station to prepare the forecasts for the Lakeside area. WU is the ONLY weather service that uses local data. ALL the others use the weather reports from Guadalajara  airport which is both on the other side of the mountains and far enough from Lake Chapala to not be subject to the lake effect.

Guadalajara weather is usually colder at night and hotter during the day than Lakeside.

As of 5:30 this morning WU predicted 10 sunny days with temperatures between 75 and 79F which is fairly standard for this time of year. Most of us don't worry about temperatures as they vary little except by the season and not much from day to day.

Weather? There is no "weather" down here.

The last year I was in Albuquerque, it got up to 100+ in the summer and snowed 28" in the winter. That is "weather".

Down here I dress the same year around. Shorts and a short sleeved shirt. During winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) I might add a warmup suit if I go out early in the morning.

A few months ago, we had a few days where the rain didn't stop until 9am or so. That was the most 'weather" I saw all year.

We have weather and seasons, they're just subtle.
