notarized documents-question for Spencer

I am hoping Spencer will answer this question. When I got my FM3 I was given a set of papers to carry in my car. They included: A color copy of my car permit, a color copy of my car title, copies of our passports, copies of our FM3s. I was recently stopped by a police officer for an intended shake down and he told us we needed to have originals of the car permit and title with us in the car. I am reluctant to carry these valuable papers with me in the car. So...can you please tell me which of these copies I can have certified/notarized to satisfy the next police officer? Also, where and for how much can I have this done ?

By the way, we did not pay him off !

Color copies are bad, certified copies from a notary are good and are accepted as the originals without the risk of carrying the originals.
