URGENT need for new prescription eyeglasses

My son is visiting from Canada and has lost his eyeglasses. He has his prescription with him. He has very poor vision and urgently needs new glasses produced asap. We have visited three optometrists in the lakeside area...nobody can produce until January 3rd. We have researched exhaustively with no success. We did find one place in Guadalajara that advertises they can produce single vision lenses in  one day...they are closed until January 4th! We would be SO grateful for ANY suggestions. Thank you. 

Maybe Costco? Give them a call.

Maybe post the prescription and somebody here may have a suitable spare set that they could lend him?

I agree about trying to find some used ones or "Dean Edels" that will at least allow him to read. I've seen them at Farmacia Cristina, Costco (huge selection), and Farmacia Guad. Maybe WM. He might even be able to find a pair for distance and a pair for reading. I would also check with the thrift shops when they open back up. Mia's? Anyone who collects used glasses for donation to poor people. Ask Tepehua. I keep thinking of the thrift shop by Maskaras and the one across from 7-11, I've seen a basket of used glasses on the counter in one of the thrift shops. I'm thinking across from 7-11, the shop in the middle.

That's right! They have a lot. What about Lenscrafters? Is their one in Guad? Glasses in an hour or something like that.

We use Dr. Pinto in Riberas. He has 20 years experience and we have had good luck with his prescriptions and get our glasses fast.
