Notarios, Lawyers, Notaries?????

Post by gringal on Mon Feb 18, 2013 11:19 am

We are going to be receiving some papers from another Mexican city concerning a property we're selling.
Our signatures need to be "notarized" and sent back.
Can only an official "Notario" be used for this purpose? The one who did our Mexican wills wants 3000 pesos to witness the Spanish and English version. Seems pretty steep?

Anyone know the answer?

Last time we needed a Notario (#5) in Chapala it was 500 pesos as a witness for some retirement issue and only in English. Perhaps looking might get a better price.

Notario #5 is in the orange building on your left as you enter Chapala. Lic. Macias is very nice and very good. He speaks perfect english. His receptionist is Norma. She too is very nice and speaks perfect english. I highly recommend #5.

I highly recommend the firm of Ramos Uriarte in Chapala. Legal firm with a notario.
