New Restaurant

Hubby and I just had lunch at el Anchor on the West side of Ajijic on the Carreterra on the south side. It is just past the large topes . We split a Caesar salad which was ab-fab. Then we had a sirloin cheeseburger. We were so full from the salad that we could only eat about 1/8th of it. The rest will be dinner tonight. Also, after the salad they brought out a lime sorbet to cleanse the palate before the main course, gratis. Next week they will be adding more varieties of wines, however, the bar section was very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed lunch and would recommend you give it a try.

Sounds promising. Now, for the questions: Hours, open for lunch and dinner, how large a place, prices, and do they allow mutts and butts? (dogs and/or smoking)?

Hours are 11-8.
salad was $70; burger was $65. Don't know about mutts but ashtrays on outside tables. We had two beers, one margarita, two wines as well as the meal. Total was $265.

It has been reported that both dogs and smoking are allowed at the outside tables. No one has revealed what is allowed at the inside tables.

Hi, Hubby here. Ash trays on all of the outside tables, so I'm thinking doggies ok, but don't know for sure

This is just outside the entrance of La Reserva - thus the name! I had the burger last week. It comes with cheese and fries. I'll have to try something else next time - it reminded me of the soy patties at the school cafeteria - yucko.

Dawg will have to try this place upon my return to Lakeside shortly. This is a restaurant that replaced the old Tajoe Burger joint and adjacent Simply Thai take out place out near Cancinta about a couple of kilometers west of Rio Zula in West Ajijic. Now that Tabarka is moving down the street a short walk from the carretera to the La Joya del lago site near the lake, I must say the dining pleasures around West Ajijic are becoming quite attractive.

I am given to believe by other forum posts that dogs will be welcome at this new restaurant on the patio which pleases Dawg to no end as the place sits on a site in Canacinata that culminates a very pleasant walk with the pooch from Six Corners to Canacinta along the beach and the dirt road extension of Ocampo. Now, diners can enjoy a stroll with the mutt and a light lunch at this new restaurant which should be a real pleasure.

Dining at this new place is at the top of my list of things to do as soon as I return to Ajijic. That and a try of the new location for Tabarka.
