I'm getting that on only 2 websites. Everything else works well. Cleared cookies and history yesterday and it fixed it for awhile but again today. IE, FF and Chrome

Unplugged the modem, restarted the computer and had breakfast. It's working again .... very strange

Not unusual that your modem need rebooting. I need to reboot mine once in a while.

If rebooting the modem doesn't fix it on these two sites go to another computer (not your
house and modem) and try. It could be the two sites. I kinda doubt it because of the message but hey who know. I am betting booting modem fixes it.

 Sorry man link worked fine for me. You rebooted your modem right?
 Could your internet be going up and down?  We have been seeing that this summer with Telmex on both our lines at LCS.
 For short period of times no internet than it comes back. We are trying to figure it out. Maybe you have a similar problem.

I have Telcel (CEL) and it's way up and down. The timing out on only a few sites is only the latest issue

 It would have helped us if you would have told us you are using a Cell phone for data.  It could be lots of things. I think you need to deal with
Telcel.   We all thought you had a modem and telmex/telecable. I don't even own a cell phone other than a pay by call one we take up north
when we travel.  Anybody else doing what he/she is doing?

I have not had experience resetting TelCel USB modems to factory. Your best bet is to take it to one of the stores, where they know how to deal with this. When I got mine a couple of years ago, there was very little supporting software or knowledge base.

 So Telcel has a cel phone data service with home Modems?  I assume the only difference is no wire?  Have I got this right.

Yes, they provide a USB wifi receiver, "works" wherever cell phone service works. Plugs into your PC or laptop. Works like a phone chip. Pay something like 800 pesos, which includes 3Mbits (maybe) for the first month; then 500 pesos each month thereafter... when I did it. No idea what the cost is now.

I bought a new one because I thought this one was going bad. Less than 400 pesos and with points cost me 100 pesos. Came with 1 gig of download time. I have this on a 10 foot USB extension cord so the modem is outside.

I have a 2 year, 10 gig a month contract that costs about 600 pesos and have not overrun my limit

I'll search on resets

 Arbon has a very good point to share. USB devices get electricity from the USB hub or USB port on any device. If you have a USB extension cord
you want to make sure it is good quality or as he said you can have a voltage drop. Try running it without the extension cord and see if that solves
the problem. Its worth a try right? Just a datapoint I am leary of cheap cables period but to be fair your extension cable could be just fine.
