ANYONE KNOW ABOUT LEGALITIES OF CELL TOWER CONSTRUCTION IN RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOODS??

If you know something about the legalities of building a cell phone tower in a residential neighborhood, could you respond and we can talk by phone? We think we have one going up down the street - of course, during the holidays! Thanks!

Legally of course, they would need a permit from Obras Publicas.
Also the contractor would have to conform with IMSS regulations and syndicato rules.
Just a general idea of the "legal requirements"....but there might be other restrictions particular to your area....such as fracc. bylaws.

Legally, of course they would. In reality, if his wife´s sister´s ex-husband´s brother works in Obras Publicas and the contractor´s cousin´s husband´s best friend´s neighbor is head of syndicato, then you are basically screwed. Just sayin´.

Boy!!!...Lady, you make it sound complicated.     
Just take your plans to OP, pay your fees and be on your way.  The biggest problem might be getting special approval from the Cabildo because of heighth restrictions. Used to be a lot of ham radio operators around here with tower/antennas...not so much anymore.
Big companies like Telcel, Iusacell, Movistar, etc., probably have their a$$ covered on the legal side.

Guess he's not rich enough!!!

I don't know all the details but the neighbors in the colonia I live in, in Guadalajara halted the construction of one about 6 months ago thru petitions and protests.

Thanks for all your feedback. Am happy to report that Municipal Hall actually sent an inspector over there this morning and shut them down...at least for the time being. We are thrilled!
