I am being "invited" to upgrade to IE 11. I have had too many friends have too many upgrading disasters to blindly click "okay" for anything tech related. Is this going to be one of those things that screws up my life? Do I need to do it? Could it actually be a good thing? Or maybe just not matter much one way or another? Thanks for any advice you might offer.

I did upgrade but I still haven't checked it out yet. I use my note 3 just about for everything. When I do and I guess today is as good a time as any. I report back with first impression.

I have IE11 and it sucks. There seems to be some glitches that cause IE to stop working on certain websites. I have to use Firefox to access them.

Yes, I wouldn't upgrade at this point. I haven't yet figured out what script is running on those sites that cause it to crash.

I been running it since it was released. No problems on my AIO, or Laptops. I have heard
some stories like CB tells but they didn't get me.

I am running it on Windows 7 not 8 so perhaps that is the difference? It usually crashes on my torrent sites. They must be running some sort of script that is crashing it. I get the "IE has stopped working message"........

I am running Windows 8 on a new Dell desktop and developed a problem with IE after a few months. I don't remember if it was IE10 or 11 though. It became extremely slow and unstable and kept giving me error messages about "long-running scripts". I tried all of the solutions suggested by various websites but nothing worked. I finally wiped everything off the machine and reloaded Windows 8 from scratch and it pulled ion IE 10. Now the machine is working great again. I have a notebook with Windows 7 and IE11 on it and it seems fine (for now).

Since it may be three or even four years since I have even attempted to open IE, I am wondering what the attraction is? Is there something I have been missing by using Firefox exclusively?

I don´t know, Cheena--inertia perhaps? I had FireFox many years ago and had problems with it. Deleted it and went back to IE. It was several computers and incarnations ago. I do not remember what the problems were, just that I got really annoyed. Maybe it is time to give them another try instead of upgrading IE?

Me too,  can you un install it?

The only way I found was to reload windows, cut off the auto update and keep it from auto updating.
