Re: barriers in la floresta
After Villa Fomosa, about 2 or 3 houses past you will come to a dirt road. Why is Monday a holiday?

No, Ramon Corona runs east/west. They are talking about the road that runs north/south from the carraterra (just west of Colon).

Actually, I did mean Ramon Corona....in San Antonio...and the dirt road is actually cobble stone, and because it is not well maintained, there is a lot of dirt and loose stones

Re: barriers in la floresta
why would you go to the 'BRANCH' office of the chapala gummint instead of "head office" in chapala, which actually controls this sort of thing? san antonio communicates with it's gummint just fine, as it should, to the seat of gummint here. the presidente's sect'y speaks english.hickton wrote:finally went to delegado office ajijic.( without the lynch gang cg ) nice woman took note of the problem and didn't know about this, seems communication between san Antonio and ajijic is temporarily down.. she said its a public road and will check it out and get back to me. but would be helpful if others can report this , upstairs delegacion ajijic, nr the plaza. thanks.

Interesting, the Delagado Hector has been told of this situation at least several weeks ago.

ok, that's good ,but the woman upstairs knew nothing about this. the delegado wasn't there, do you have to make an appointment to see him? would be interesting to get his stance, although they did promise to call me with news, but not holding my breath.

Re: barriers in la floresta
Hickton, you can speak with Hector in his office directly at the Ajijic Delagado office after 9:30 in the morning.
As I expected, our "friends" in the Chapala government are indeed enabling this blocking of a public road, someone with the title of "Architecto" there who is in charge of roads somehow apparently authorized them. More on this when I get more details.
The police are complaining because it blocks their patrols between and through San Antonio and Ajijic and Hector also said that 2 nights ago an ambulance ran into a big problem getting to someone because of the barriers.
As the beneficiary of Chapala's short sheeting and arbitrary behavior towards all of the other villages in the Municipio, Pedro, I wouldn't expect you to complain about anything.

Re: barriers in la floresta
I saw Hector in his office today. I had to wait half an hour to see him, but he was very helpful and patient and his English is excellent. He told me that 20 people have already come to his office to complain about the barriers. He said to speak with the La Floresta Admin about it, since they are the ones who contacted the roads person in Chapala about wanting a 'feeling of safety' in Lower La Floresta after the 2 murders there. He said that if we complain to the La Floresta Admin about closing off Camino Real in the evenings, that they are a safety hazard, as far as ambulances and police cars are concerned, that they would have to remove the barriers.
It certainly won't hurt to give that a try, and so that's what I will do tomorrow.

Heh, good one.
That's your ticket to getting those barriers removed! Go talk to the fire chief and Cruz Roja, they'll agree that they are a public safety hazard and back you up. And get the cops onboard. That should do it.
