I have it in my Garmin from our last visit there.

If you have a Garmin the coordinates are: N20 19.782 W102 46.391

Bob, if I bought a Garmin up here, how would I get Mexico on it? They are dirt cheap here. Is the Nuvi a good Garmin?

Thanks

Many but not all Garmins loaded with the North America map package do include Mexico. As for the Garmin Nuvi, there are probably 50 to 75 old and current Nuvi models in the marketplace. A look at: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/cOnTheRoad-cAutomotive-p1.html
should give you an idea of the features of the various models.

I'm old school.

Take the Chapala Hwy toward Guadalajara. Long before you get to the airport, right where the famous and fabulous Burritos Moyohua (or however it's spelled) you'll see the La Barca Highway turnoff. Get off on the La Barca Highway, heading toward Ocotlán and La Barca. Drive about 20-25 minutes. Just as you're beginning to reach Ocotlán, you'll see a golf course on your right. Get off and take the street to your right, heading back toward the direction of the lake. Monkey your way around up and over the hill until you find it. The entrance will be on your left. Don't miss the vortex.

Just buy a Garmin at Best Buy in Guadalajara. It comes with the maps (well actually you get a code to download NA 2014 into your new Garmin). Get one that comes with lifetime updates. They are around $300.

Why would he do that? They're half the price in the US and come with North American lifetime maps.

Are the maps you get if you buy here in Mexico any different than if you buy in the US?

Yup - there is only one model and it has the LM designation!  Ever hear of comparing apples to apples?

Besides, TomToms tend to be even cheaper.
