Is lakside not affected too?

I have been seeing reports on CNNI about the children migrating from Central America. So far over 60,000 unaccompanied children escaping the violence in their country. A map showed the ports of entry into the US and it goes from McAllen, TX westward. Are any of these kids showing up lakeside and, if so, what is being done with them? What have you heard, especially those of you tangentially involved in local politics.

So the consensus of opinion is that these kids are not passing through this area. That is good to know.

They pass through Guadalajara on la bestia, the train and I see them begging and selling things with others, a very common site especially within 1 mile or so from the train tracks.

It's horrifying... especially when you think about a mother who is so terrified for her child that she finds the money to send her on a journey that may end in her death... or maybe something even worse. I don't know what the answer is... send them back? To what? But where is the money going to come from if they stay?...and who cares for them? Who the wise man/woman with the answer is...I have no clue. It's an impossible situation, breaks my heart every time I see the news with children carrying babies.
