New Name for Restaurant Don Pedro / west Ajijic
About 2 weeks ago the Restaurant Don Pedro closed. Maybe they did not have enough business; who knows? It typically seemed like no one where there.
In any event, it has reopened .... with a new name, but it's still the same cast of characters; the same family.
Maybe they will have the same results as before.

I have lost count of the number of times they have done this.

Re: New Name for Restaurant Don Pedro / west Ajijic
When the restaurant name changed to Don Pedro's it was bought by Pedro Arellano who changed the name. In some circles lakeside his name is well known; ask around.
So ownership has changed with the multiples of names. In this case, the name has changed, but it's still within the same family.
The new place is to have Mexican food .....
There are lots of other places to go for Mexican food, but maybe they have some certain corner on the market??
One of the established Mexican Restaurants is Viva Mexico in San Juan Cosala which has a wonderful owner who has a good menu, pays his employees, and contributes to his immediate community and the community at large.

*pays his employees*
¿Are there many Restaurants (that serve gringos Lakeside) that do not pay all of their employees?
Let the gringos know who they are. Eh

Maybe he meant....pays well, pays on time, pays a salary besides propinas, doesn't confiscate propinas...who knows?
I don't think any restaurant could hold employees very long without paying.

I understood that the proprietors past had finally caught up with him and he was currently in the clink. Could explain the name change?

Actually, I don't have anything against the place. I have had a few memorable nights there..........

There's some real talent in this group ..... it would take only a little digging to find out that this guy works in more than one sector.
Check elsewhere and ask about employees getting paid, or vendors, or service providers, etc. getting paid ..... you can start in Chula Vista Norte, then Chula Vista, then elsewhere in Ajijic, then Racquet Club, other parts of San Juan Cosala. Oh, and don't forget Jocotepec. You have a wide range. Then you might come back to the restaurant business and again visit this discussion about employees getting paid.
