Hotels near airport? Empty Hotels near airport?

Post by merry Tue Jul 29, 2014 12:31 pm

I have an early flight out of Guadalajara and can't face a mad morning dash to make it.

Besides the hotel at the airport, what places are there to lay ones head overnight? Obviously for the whole body, not just space for a head.

Isn't there a Marriot (or one of the other Hilton partners) further up the highway by the Chili's Restaurant?

I believe it's the Hampton. Go past the airport, and take the 1st returno, the Hampton is on your right.

Yes, it's a Hampton Inn.
I've stayed there and it was nice and comfy. I believe they have a shuttle service to the airport but not early morning so you'll need to take a taxi.
Look online for pricing and try calling the hotel itself (not Hampton toll-free) for rates.

What is the name of the hotel right next to the terminals? That to me would be the best choice. You just check out of the hotel and then a short walk to the airline check-ins.

That hotel makes the most sense. If you stay elsewhere and have to take a taxi then you might as well just take a taxi from here.

You're right, Bob. Expedia had a sale on Casa Grande for US $81 tax title & license so I picked that up. No need to cab or find a hotel with airport shuttle!

THANKS ALL!

I've stayed at both the Casa Grande and at the Hampton Inn.   In my opinion it is no contest.   I'd only stay at the Hampton Inn which has great beds, okay breakfast, free shuttle to the airport the next morning.   Casa Grande beds were very uncomfortable.   If no free shuttle available if you are leaving early in the a.m., it would be so worth it to pay for a taxi to the airport.

Oops, sorry I just noticed you have already booked for the Casa Grande.

Th casa grande is fine for one night, I always stay there because I know I will not have to wait for a cab or a van and will not have any delay getting to the airport. It is not the brightest or happiest of places but it serves its purpose.

Hotel Casa Grande also had an unheated pool that was always in the shade. Extras are minimal for something looking so grand .... but their wake up service worked for me twice

Just booked one night in Sept for $81 from expedia.com. We have a very early flight and the option of this hotel being right at the airport makes it perfect for us. Our friend can drive us to the hotel in the afternoon instead of driving us at some ungodly hour in the morning.

Casa Grande is fine. Resturant is pretty good for a hotel restaurant. Bed was fine.  Looks like a older Ramada inn. We would use them again. Cheaper to get reservations on internet than calling them directly. No opinion on Hampton Inn. Stayed three weeks ago at Casa Grande so my info is recent. It does the job for us.

Actually, the restaurant on the second floor at the far end of the airport terminal (where immigration is) is pretty good. The one in Casa Grande always reminds me of a high school cafeteria.

They have a normal menu which is what I am talking about. They also have some kind of buffet which is what I think you are talking about.
