... leather guy in ajjic. so about 2 years ago,i had deer skin pants made by leo y hijos in tlaquepaque. i was unable to wear them for about a year because i lost 30lbs and it doesn't look like i'll gain it back. took them to marcelino on a thurs. and he said they would be done monday. nope-so i went there on thurs and he again said they would be done monday. they were and he even phoned me to that effect. cost $300 so i gave him 400 because i was so pleased. a few years ago he made my vest as well.

don't forget to dry clean em often... or u'll get crotch rot

You might laugh but put your pants in a plastic bag and put them in the freezer for a few days. Trick I learned from models who don't want to wash the fancy pants they wear so they freeze em. Guess it kills something as they don't smell when you take them out of freezer. Oh yea make sure they are dry before you
put them in the freezer!

now i've heard everything. these here pants won't be going in the freezer. they have just started getting a nice patina

It is not the freezer that kills the smell it is being in the plastic bag. The freezer is not necessary.
Several years ago I bought a Masai Mara blanket when I was in one of their villages in Kenya. When I got back to our lodge and away from the dung covered ground and huts I realized the blanket stunk like the place we had been. I had a heavy plastic bag and as I wanted the blanket I stuck it in the bag to take home where I could throw it into the washing machine. When I got home a couple of weeks later I took it into my laundry room and when I took it out of the bag I was pleasantly surprised to find the smell was gone.
I still washed it. It now resides in my home here in Ajijic.

The freezer kills bacteria which helps get rid of smell. I guess cold kills stuff like heat does.
