It will be good for the lake if it causes another opening of the dams. Hopefully it doesn't cause any damage on the coast. I think at this point it is still pretty far off shore.

Actually I just looked and it (named Vance) has been downgraded to a tropical depression and is hitting the coast today and tonight. Looks like we are in the fallout area.

Came ashore between Vallarta and Mazatlan but Melaque got wind yesterday and it hasn't stopped raining (hard) since 8 last night. It's got to be a lot worse around Vallarta and north.

I talked to a fiend in Manzanillo this morning and they are predicting 10-12 inches of rain.

This is what a lagoon opening looks like to stop it backing up into neighborhoods

Someone in Barra de Navidad measured 7" so far. CONAGUA measured 103mm last night in Manzanillo but that's only 4.5 inches

And the ocean is so hot. Usually in the middle of October the ocean at Puerto Vallarta cools to low 80's (F) - this the so called "switch", and everything cools down and starts to dry out. It has not "switched" for two years now, and the water today is 85 (F) - way over the average. The weather has been very unpredictable, which is difficult for a tourist town because not matter what the costs, the first priority of vacationers is reliable, nice weather.
