Broadcast TV and antennas
Here in Toronto, we do not have cable or satellite TV, we have just a digital TV antenna and we are pleased with the absolutely free broadcast channels that we get. (We are lucky to be on a hill with our antenna facing both the CN Tower and Buffalo.) We are moving to Ajijic in June. is there any point in bringing our digital TV antenna with us? Is there any broadcast TV and if so is it analog or digital? Any English language programs such as movies on those channels? Note that I am not referring to satellite TV.
Thanks in advance!

Our local cable company has the three networks in English. Broadcast will get you some Guad stations but remember we are on the other side of mountains so your mileage may vary. Just so you know a digital antenna is actually what we use to call a UHF antenna. It might work or might not work depending on your location, the towers location, and how much mountain is in the way.

Re: Broadcast TV and antennas
When we lived in Ajijic, 2001-04, we were able to get three Guadalajara analog TV channels with a large antenna on the roof. Only one was pleasant enough quality to watch. Even radio reception is difficult in Ajijic because of the surrounding mountains. So, you will be happy to hear that Telecable basico will probably be the most economical choice. We had that for our last ten years in Mexico, after moving to Chapala in 2004. Now in AZ, we have expensive DirecTV and are not thrilled with it.

Re: Broadcast TV and antennas
Zed it's 4, ABC CBS. NBC. & FOX And like RV I got three over the air channels with an analog antenna. There are now some stations broadcasting in both analog and digital but I don't know which.
Hopefully, shown below is a link to the channels in the basic analog package

They show no channel assigned to Ch 87 which is one of the four English channels mentioned above. They also have digital channels starting at 101 and going up to 999. To include the NFL and CNN channels (In English & HD) and quite a few more in HD
