We called it "Scar on the mountain..."
They call it "ecological sustainability". I got this flyer on my car at Soriana. Don't you just love marketers?

Makes me wish I believed in hell and a special place for the people involved in this to be consigned to.

Unfortunately what is "going up" up there has a good chance of coming down. I wouldn't want to be in the potential path.

I am always suspect of groups not savvy enough to have a native English speaker review their print material. It's not like there aren't plenty around.
I would be interested in a small group tour.

Wait until people buy and then the ejido tries to extort money from them saying they built on their land, the ejido in Ajijic is pretty crafty when it comes to shifting boundaries.

I know a fellow who has a townhouse in upper Ajijic. Their complex was just advised that the ejido have recently made a claim against their land.

That visual blight is so bad that I'd think anyone who bought up there would be embarrassed to be part of it.

Bob, I can help your buddy, we are fighting them on another property. We have nailed them down on boundaries in one case.

I suspect you may already be helping them. They are our mutual friends. I will check anyways.

That's a frequent occurrence in places like Mision del Lago and other newer complexes in Upper Ajijic, over the last 30 years.
Never goes anywhere.

They extort money from people and never file their final map so they can keep moving it, they destroy the markers so there is little proof, save for expensive surveys, that the land is not in their zone.

I heard that was to be their "crowning glory". Like a turd topping.
Just to cheer y'all up, it this were in Southern California, ALL the view hills would already be covered with this sort of thing.
Gives us something to look forward to, eh?

Well it is all about the money so if those opposed to such development's were to all pitch in and buy those mountains then they could be preserved forever...........

It's always all about the money, and the developers have it. I don't think the naysayers would get far in a "go fund me" pitch.

The investment company behind the development is primarily owned by the wealthiest Vietnamese-American family in the US.
They have real estate interests and development going on in 40 countries.

Close, as they are from right next door. It's like calling your neighbours down in Chiapas, Guatemaltecos.

Re: We called it "Scar on the mountain..."
Typical of Mexican where any Asian is called Chino and like a dummy I did not hink Asian. We have Taiwanese, Vietnamese and Japanese in my family and we never say Chinese for any Asians but obviously Mexico is a little different.
At leats Chiapas was part of Guatemala until 100 years ago so it would not be as incorrect as calling Vietnamese or Japanese .." Chinese"
Maybe they are curly Vietnamese, and that was the man covered it all.
