Nissan X-Trail Empty Nissan X-Trail

Post by Frijoles Wed Mar 25, 2015 1:27 pm

Does anyone have experience with Nissan X-Trails? Good, long-lasting vehicle? Specifically, wondering how many kms you can put on them. Thinking of buying a used one but it already has 190,000 kms on it. Thanks.

Yep very good. Not sold in USA was sold in Canada for a few years. If given oil changes and service they can go 250,000 KM or more.  Had a old maxima with 390,000 miles and the engine was original. Not even a head gasket on it.  Finally the rest of the car fell apart.  Nissan four bangers are pretty good if serviced which is the question.

I was the front seat passenger in a car yesterday, which rattled and shook & wandered a bit with sloppy steering and suspension. The doors had to be slammed hard, since the frame was bent, and sometimes it hesitated to start. However, it was a fun ride and proves that cars can last a long time. It was a 1929 Model A Ford; unrestored, but painted nicely. Fun!

Nissan X-Trail Empty X-Trail(s)

Good points are having a timing chain so no danger of wrecking engine when timing belt breaks,  cooled, or heated cup holders are good to keep your Timmy's warm or others cool.
Only sold in Canada for 2 yrs so spares are few and far from MX.
Seem to have higher price than other small SUV's, almost a cult status.

We had an X-Trail in Canada and loved it. Had very few problems with it.
We were sad to have to sell it because hubby was coming in directly as a Permanente.
