WHAT IS MY BEST WAY TO GO?

I'm coming back to Mx tomorrow.

I'm bringing my very old laptop which is worth about US$100 or less.

I'm also bringing back a used HP "stream" that cost me just under US$200.

How do I declare these and how much will I have to pay in duty?

I'm not going to try to sneak either in.

You don't have to "sneak them in" Customs will ignore them.

If you were bringing in 5 new computers, customs would probably balk but 2 used computers are not even noticed today.

I read the title of yer thread and the first thing that popped into my head was " In yer sleep "
but maybe not if yer driving :)

Don't worry to much about the border people.... sometimes they want a little ... er... tax.
Just keep a couple o hundred pesos handy.....

However, if they are used customs doesn't care about them anyhow. I travel with my laptop, my tablet, my camera, etc., etc.

yes used is not even looked at but don't try to bring in fresh deli sausages on a plane.

Clueless, you should have arrived a few days ago, I hope you tell us what your experience was.

You get an exemption for personal items, I can't recall the amount but it's somewhere between $170 and $300. You are supposed to bring receipts and declare your items, but if they are in the price range you are talking about you are just wasting a bureaucrat's time declaring them. They will be zero duty.
