Fabulous stone artisans
If you get a chance to get to the San Juan de Dios Plaza in Guadalajara before the end of October you have to check out all the different stone artisan's on display. Some stunning work at really good prices.

Re: Fabulous stone artisans
They are in an annual contest - one of the rules is that they cannot use power tools and air hammers. The normal process, especially in Canada and the U.S., involves screaming diamond blades, a lot of dust, and miniature air hammers with their compressors. The power tools also allow polishing up to a mirror gloss (if the stone can take it).
I would like to in and see the ongoing restoration of Orozco's frescoes in the Hospital Cabanas. I think it is until the end of October. A team of experts from Mexico City.
