Phone charges?? Empty Phone charges??

Post by Klutzy Fri Jan 22, 2016 6:53 am

I thought calls to the US were now free, but the property manager says there is an 800 peso bill to be paid, not sure whether Telmex or Telecable. I probably made ~15 calls last month. Can someone please give me details about phone calls using a local landline? (I will be so glad when my lease expires!)

Nothing is free. Calls to the US and Canada are included in the number of calls your plan allows. ie the 389 peso plan includes 100 calls. I believe the US and Canada calls are also subject to a 5 minute time limit each.

Tell your property manager that you want a copy of the bill. You are entitled.

Calls to toll free numbers in the States (800 numbers, etc.) are NOT free so if you made some of those, that may explain it.

I knew about the 800 problem, but no one informed me of the 5 minute time limit. I'm sure that's the issue. Thanks both!

I've talked longer than 5 minutes & wasn't charged extra. Is that new?

We are on the $599 plan and there is no time limit per call.

Yes, it depends on the plan. Who knows if the landlord even has one?
