Retinal Specialist

Hi everyone, we are new to the area and I am looking for recommendations on a retinal specialist in the Ajijic area. I will also need a cataract removed. Thanks in advance

Those are not procedures that I recommend for Lakeside. Guadalajara is where you should expect to be treated.
Use Google to find Instituto Avalos for cataracts, and Dr. Enrique Roig for an excellent retinologist.

I can personally recommend Dr Rigoberto Rios in the Plaza Montana....first class care, surgeries performed in a specialty hospital in GDL.

I think most "lakeside" ophthalmologists are Guadalajara doctors who have satellite offices here. They do exams and follow up care here but surgeries are done in Guadalajara.

Dr. Enrique Roig, who has saved my vision, did it at Clinica Santa Lucia, which is a very specialized place with the very latest facilities and an excellent staff. I found it far superior to a couple of other eye clinics, which were good, but this one was excellent. Dr. Roig has a website, as well as offices at Puerto de Hierro. He speaks perfect English, has US credentials & specializes in retinology.
