Diabetes nerve pain treatment Empty Diabetes nerve pain treatment

I am a sufferer of nerve death, caused by type 2 diabetes, in my feet. My NOB doctors have told me that to minimize the pain I needed to maintain my blood glucose levels. That is a given and I do, but for the residual pain I take 1.8 gm of Gabapentin twice daily and Tramadol 100mg as needed up to three times a day.

I would love to hear what the local doctors and/or the clinics give for foot pain due to diabetes. I am not interested in any treatments that are not FDA or its equivalent approved for the affliction. Cosed mind? Yep!

I have tried Pregabalin with no additional benefit over the almost free Gabapentin. I do not do NSAIDS.

Please.

Have you tried lyrica? I'm no dr but have nerve damage in my shoulder causing some nice sweet pain. Lyrica was prescibed along with a few other non narcotics from a local pain dr.. I guess they work synergetic. PM me you're interested in the medications. Do you need a prescription? Who knows. It's a crap shoot here.

I've had idiopathic nerve pain in both feet since 1997. The only thing I have found for the shooting, lightening and electric pain is Botox injected on either side of the "sweet" spot from where the pain is shooting. Lasts for several months at a time. I haven't found any relief from the numb, burning, cardboard between my skin and muscles, walking on wrinkled socks, painful toes in shoes or freezing pain. I just tough it out.

Lyrica is available OTC at any farmacia. It is way cheaper to get the "generic" pregabalina. It is about 1/4 of the cost. I was using this for bad sciatica pain. It worked pretty good.

It was prescribed to me for sciatic pain. It did not work for me and the side effects were awful. Read up on it before you take it.

http://www.rxlist.com/lyrica-side-effects-drug-center.htm

dizziness
drowsiness
loss of balance or coordination
dry mouth
constipation
edema
breast swelling
tremors
blurred vision
weight gain, and
Problems with memory and concentration

Sounds like a typical morning for me. Joking of course
It's always recommended to consult a physician before taking anything even an OTC. Not only side effects but interactions with other drugs you may be taking
