An interesting day. . .
Went out today, first time since the election, and learned a few things.
We cried on each others shoulders and tried to predict the future and just felt sad together. Then I went to the abarrote I frequent and when we were talking I told them I was sorry about the election and we commiserated together but the owner couldn't look me in the eye.
At the tortillaria, the owners and I had a chat. They are back here from extensive living in So California and pretty bicultural. We commiserated, then he told me he talked to the family in L.A. last night who said a large percent of the Latino vote was for Trump! Why? Because they don't want any more migrants either. Then we agreed I should hang out at home for a few days.
Ran into Pancho at SuperLake and apologized for the results of the election. He shrugged and said ni modo. He said it's just like Brexit, and Colombia, and all the other countries where they've elected a pendejos because the people are finally sick of the governments. He said he didn't think it would happen in the US, though. He said Mexico will be next, the people are done with the PRI and PAN and he thinks AMLO will be elected. We're next, he said.

Re: An interesting day. . .
And here I thought Mexico already had a pendejos as president.
We should all commiserate with each other.
Now I am going to lie down with a cold towel on my head and try to remember voting for honest people. If I can remember any, and if I can remember back that far.
John F. Kennedy? Memo to self: contemplate whether there have been any non-philandering presidents. Did Abraham Lincoln have affairs? Must consult biographies.

There is serious speculation that Lincoln was inclined towards men. Not sure I believe it, but it makes a certain amount of sense. He was, apparently, seriously misogynistic.
Jefferson, on the other hand, was a dog. Brilliant, talented, intuitive. But a SERIOUS dog.

I never heard any racy stories about Give 'em hell Harry Truman. Bess would have clobbered him.

You are way ahead of me! So, what does this mean to us all??? And what of Monica Lewinsky? People in important positions seem to be fair game. Do you suppose Hillary has been.....uh...propositioned??? Sigh. I suppose she has. But females are, in my view as a female (there: I outed myself), more suspicious of propositions. Sigh: I am turning this into a debate into a discussion on sex--we DO get to discuss this on this forum, don't we Bob?

AMLO has seen a spike in his popularity big time since Trump arrived. And guess what, he is no fan of America.
