What a day!
Hello all,
I arrived Tuesday evening and was treated royally by Tom and Jan at the Hotel Perico. It took me two days to get my mind in gear after the move. Today I got my son into the Instituto International, filed the paperwork for permanente, and found a house I rented that I would never ever think in my wildest dreams I would ever live in. It is a home that could be in Homes and Gardens, complete with three bedrooms, three and a half baths, a cupola ceiling, an incredible second floor patio, furnished down to the dishes, a half block from the lake in Chapala Centro. It is gated and the local maid offers her services for a top to bottom cleaning on demand for 200 pesos. The house and the tuition combined total less than I paid rent for a standard house in Texas.
I am so happy I could just ribbit.

Welcome to the hood. Sounds like you're on Zaragoza at the QQ property. If so we're the 3rd house north of you and just across the street. Drop by anytime for a howdy do and maybe a chat about ... current events. ;-)

Welcome RichD! If you see a gringo walking briskly on the malecon between 9 & 10 in the morning, there's a good chance it's me, so say hi.

If you see an old fart riding the malecon on a white Ebike with huge tires, say hi, please.
