Diabetes class starts July 16 at LCS

New Lake Chapala Classes : Diabetes Education

The Lake Chapala Society is pleased to offer classes about "Living with Diabetes
on Your Terms".

The first class will be held at the LCS on July 6th from 10 - 11:30am.
Thereafter, classes will be on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Classes will provide information on the management of diabetes and what you need
to know if you have diabetes, or are a caregiver to someone with diabetes.

Subjects covered will include: meal planning, monitoring your blood sugar and
what to do about the numbers, a discussion about the difference between Type 1
and Type 2 diabetes, how to lose some weight if you need to, how to treat a high
and low blood sugar, and much more!

The class will be presented by Dorothy McCauley RN CDE CPT.

Dorothy has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for 53 years and is looking forward to
sharing her philosophy on how to have quality of life with a chronic illness.

Written information will be provided for a small donation of 20 pesos.

I went to a 4 hour breakfast seminar a few weeks ago on diabetes and treatments here in Mexico. Breakfast and seminar sponsored by a pharm company, interesting info, most a bit over my head but I´m happy to loan my materials to anybody, oh and its all in Spanish.
