Melanoma
Just found out I have one on the back of my arm... they'll take it off Monday. They say it hasn't metastasized... so hopefully no big deal ... but it started me thinking of the sun exposure at high altitudes. I didn't even know there was a spot there...if they hadn't found it when they did I might have been SOL. So...my advice..for EVERYBODY... is have a full body scan every once in a while. It's not a big deal.. the doctor just looks you over and takes a scraping of anything that looks suspicious and sends it in. Easy Peasy...but a life saver.

Re: Melanoma
In our case, melanoma turned out to be an early warning: It was found, biopsied and confirmed, then surgically removed to clean margins. Next, CT scans were done to check for metastases, and the thyroid and liver were suspicious. Half the thyroid was removed and the tumor was malignant. An MRI indicated benign liver cysts that did not look worrisome. Soon, the other half of the thyroid will be removed as a precaution, and a brain scan will be ordered. At present, there is no evidence of disease, but we will continue constant vigilance.
Had the melanoma not been discovered, none of the other dangers would have been noticed, as they are generally without symptoms until the later stages, when it is too late for successful intervention.

Re: Melanoma
So far, so good. She is encouraged by the treatment and results. I am still searching for the fountain of youth & can‘t seem to find it.
Hang in there & keep your eye on the target.

Re: Melanoma
A friend in Washington state was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer ...6 months to live.. over two years ago. Talked to her yesterday and she was rockin n rollin! Amazing her doctor. I talked her into Cannabis Oil (Phoenix Tears, found out about it from Jim Wilson)) . It seems to be working...big time! Of course she lives in a state where it's easily accessible. She says that occasionally she has "down" days ..but for the most part she feels great. I don't know if it will cure her completely..but I do know it's bought her time...and some quality time at that.

Yes I agree about the cannabis oil. That's good news for her stomach cancer as that is a difficult cancer to cure.

Time will tell. So far it's working... whether at some point she's cancer free..is still to be seen. I've known her for 63 years...best friends in a one room school on Squaw Mountain, Oregon... would like to see us reach 80 ..at least.
