I knew how with XP but I'm lost on WIN 7

Needed a PDF reader and Foxit kept timing out on download. Adobe DL'ed fine but installed a couple other programs that I don't want. Ideas?

In the control panel under programs. Locate the program on the list and click on uninstall.

Hope it's that simple. In XP I used to edit the startup files list
