Re: Earthquake.
Next time, Mike. There'll be another one.
Maybe there is some way to donate money specifically for the quake victims.

It is the one thing that always puzzles me... that there seems to be no easy way to donate to a reputable organization here. In the past, the Chillin' Gang has been helpful in getting funds to the ones who need it but that was for hurricanes not earthquakes.
I will deliver to Tripp's and hope that someone can help me get stuff out of the car...

Re: Earthquake.
Well, apparently the US (45) has not acknowledged the quake has happened! No condolences, nada. So no help from them. Maybe the NGOs that usually help are overwhelmed with catastrophes of their own? I noticed that too. Seems Mexico is on their own.
Maybe Trip knows, I can ask Ann Whiting on FB, maybe she knows where money can be safely sent.

Re: Earthquake.
When you consider what sending money means. . .it means that organization or that individual will have to collect all the funds sent, transfer them to pesos, buy the needed goods, transport those goods to a devastated area, and distribute those goods . . . seems insurmountable.

Re: Earthquake.
Thank you Mike!
I went to the Oxfam site and will be making a deposit directly at a Banorte Bank.
This is the information taken from the website that you posted....
"Realiza un depósito bancario o transferencia en:
Institución Bancaria: Banco Mercantil del Norte SA (BANORTE) a nombre de Oxfam México, A.C.
No. de Cuenta: 0265797260
Cta. Interbancaria: 072180002657972602
Favor de referenciar el depósito e incluir un número telefónico "
And I will include the notation that the deposit is for "El terremoto de Chiapas y Oaxaca"
That is the easiest and most logical way for me to help.

Re: Earthquake.
Except that I don't have PayPal and I don't have Facebook and I'm not interested in either one of 'em.
Thanks again.

Re: Earthquake.
I dropped off some things today at Trip's. The staff was very helpful. I offered to take it around to the office and they insisted they would be happy to do it. I'm sure they would help you unload your car. Thanks to Trip and all those making it easy for us to help out the earthquake victims.
