Added to that, there is phenomenon of it somehow being okay now for all the worst of the worst qualities in the population to crawl out into the open. Things such as school kids wearing Klan outfits.

Reading some of the reports, it seems that the politicians are waiting on the cameras so they can be seen distributing the goods.
