Lila Kawananakoa passed in Ajijic on Nov 4th, and has been buried in Honolulu at Oahu Cemetery. Lila has lived here in Mexico for over 30 years and has been instrumental in organizing and supporting many animals rescue groups over the years. She was a founding member and an integral part of Lakeside Friends of the Animals.

Lila was a wonderful, generous person who was also an authentic Hawaiian princess; she had been married to Edward Kawananakoa who was one of the last of the reigning Hawaiian monarchy.

Muchas Alohas, Lila, you will be missed. RIP QEPD

I am sorry for the loss of your friend Trailrunner. She sounds like she was an amazing person. RIP Lila.

I have heard of her but did not know her. Hers was a life well lived. The world will be less for her absence. I am sorry for her loss.
