Manzanillo Web Board
Does anyone know of an expat web board for the Manzanillo area? Any info would be helpful.

We spent two weeks there the end of February and found it a wonderful town. It had stores, really good restaurants and really great restaurants. It was relaxing to travel around town even though it was Mardi Gras week. We stayed in Bonnie Supans condo there across from the naval base and it was gorgeous views, the grounds were lovely and very well kept, and the pool was fabulous with a palapa and built in seating. My husband as a kid cleared snow for his neighbor Steinbrenner and then during college summers worked on ore boats on Lake Erie so the shipping action in port all day long was fun for him. He was working the summer the E Fitzgerald went down.
There is a once a month ladies luncheon and a once a month cocktail party. The Oasis Club is on another bay but the drive is easy and the food is fabulous white tablecloth service. The tableside ceaser salad prep is a good show. They regularly have benefits etc. there. The one we went to was for animal rescue and was a full day of bocce ball tournaments and the usual silent auction.
It always seemed so industrial as we drove past to more bucolic villages, but realistically it has it with a small town vibe and no big buildings on most of the beaches. Nary a vendor in sight.

Thanks to both of you. I was there several weeks ago and attended the women's luncheon and was amazed at the level of participation which was attended by 150 women!
We had lunch at La Boquita beach and there were plenty of vendors and elsewhere but not a problem.
It really is a nice town and so clean. Hardly a speck of trash anywhere.
