There are reports of crocodiles in the Lake. They have been seen near the Malecon and by Club Nautico.

Well I think the water temperature, air temperature (November to February) and lack of proper breeding grounds isn't conducive to a crocodile colony a few that are dumped in may survive. I'll believe it when I see the pictures.

They may have a run in with the manatees though.......

Africa is full of crocodiles in fresh water lakes and rivers, like up and down the Nile.  Never saw or heard of them in the Mediterranean, which is salt water or other ocean locations.  I think their habitat is fresh water in Australia too.

We have fresh water crocs in Chiapas..in the river in Chiapa de Corzo, people swim there too.. also on the river bordering Guatemala..People swim there too and in some of the lakes.. the indigenous say they do not attack but I do not want to test it.. My nephews wife has a phobia about them and we were on the water in Naha and there they call them lagartos so I thought they were talking about lizzards walking back to the hotel the guide showed us a nest and by the size of it we realize it was a crock´s nest..my niece almost had a heart attack at the idea we were in a light boat floating around with the crocks..

There are a few large crocs swimming around in the Marina Vallarta inlet too. They have tried relocating them back to the river but they keep returning.

Those crocs always return to the estuary which is fresh water. Same with the ones in the laguna de Tule between Barra de Navidad and Melaque.

Crocs like fresh/brackish water . If they venture into salt water they soon return to their fresh/brackish habitat. The water in the croc pool in La Mazanillia is fres/brackish....Not salt.
