Both CNN Mexico and Univision have declared AMLO the winner. Trump has sent his congratulations. Don't know if that is based on exit polls or official results.

Well at least one such person (grandparents on mother's side, immigrants from Spain) voted for AMLO, and that was AMLO, himself.
All of the refugees from Spain that Lazaro Cardenas took in the 1940's were from the losing side of the Spanish Civil War and were the socialist democrat, socialist, and communist components.

That article was surprising to me if they're correct. Sounds like more of the same, if true.

Don’t know if it will be the same, however it remains to be seen what the evangelical cohort will demand. He also is surrounded by some good people...and some not so great people like Ester Elba Gordillo’s close intimates/supporters. Still and all, this may be the change we need.

It sounds to me like he is not the leftist, anti-capitalist, dictator that they were trying to portray him as. He has even stated that he is calling a referendum in 3 years where he will step down if the people want him out. While mayor of Mexico City he had an 80% + approval rating. He did many private/government partnership projects that greatly improved the city.
