Mi Ranchito Cremeria
Newish food shop in Chapala owned by Juan Muro who was one of the SL suppliers. Bakery upstairs, deli plans in the works, cheeses, meats, specialty items. Breads they were putting out today we're bagels, pumpernickel, and NY Jewish Rye. Check their FB page for info and pictures. Nice light slighty fruity Spanish olive oil on tap - 50 pesos for a half liter. Good stuff.
Behind the Mercado Público in Chapala on the north corner.

This is a great place, on the N.E. corner of the street that run directly behind the Mercado..Really top quality products..Well worth a visit as we stumbled upon it 2-3 weeks ago and now shop there at least once a week..Truly an amazing grouping of deli products and hard to find products..

Found a couple of hard to find items there - horseradish, egg roll wrappers (not the rice ones) and light pancake syrup for diabetics; I know you can get them at SL but between the traffic and the prices I'd rather shop in Chapala. I see they now have a locally made german saurkraut. They sometimes have sausage and cheese tasting so be sure to check their FB page https://www.facebook.com/miranchito.cremeria.16

Great bagles and many specialty items at reasonable prices. Things like balsamic cream... And the owner speaks perfect English so you can ask for what you don't see. I love this place and I don't live anywhere near here. He now has Jewish rye. Haven't tried it yet but it looks like the real dea.

They are great, so happy to have them in Chapala, except I am eating too many bagels, which are as good as the bagels of my new jersey Jewish childhood. And they really want to hear what you want. With Pancho's store in Riberas, seems like the east end of Lakeside is developing more gringo-oriented business.
